The project included
the construction of a new passenger terminal for the existing Midland International
Airport. The current terminal facility was approximately 50 years old and had been
renovated numerous times. The new facility was constructed behind the old facility while
the old facility remained in operation. Special aircraft ramps were built around the old
facility to get aircraft access to the new facility. Once the new facility was constructed
and operational, the old facility was demolished and new aircraft ramps were constructed.HVAC systems for the building were supplied by a
new central plant using two water-cooled chillers and two water boilers. Multiple air
units were installed using both variable air volume and constant air volume systems.
Lighting for the
project was accomplished using indirect high-intensity discharge (HID) fixtures. These
fixtures were strategically placed and aimed at the high curved open structure ceiling,
allowing a complete indirect lighting system throughout the passenger areas of the
terminal.
Power distribution for the facility was established through a
centralized main switchboard located in the new central plant. Remote panels and
transformers were provided throughout the facility to meet the electrical requirements of
the users.
Other electrical
systems included fire alarm, public address, data, telephone, and flight information
systems.

provided the following services: HVAC, electrical and plumbing design, construction documents, and construction administration. |
