In 1995, the Ector
County Independent School District (ECISD) began construction on a new career technology
center. The center was designed to provide higher skills training for the high school
students of ECISD. The center provides hands-on labs for learning such skills as
automobile repair, wood working technology, electrical technology, and computer
technology.The mechanical system utilized for
the project was a four-pipe fan coil system. Fan coil units suspended above the ceilings
were utilized to serve the zones of the building. Fresh air for the building was provided
through two air handling units located at each end of the building. Agnew Associates also
installed special exhaust systems to accommodate the needs of the laboratory spaces.
Electrical systems
included lighting and power, communication, and fire alarm systems. Agnew Associates
installed power systems in the main laboratory areas to accommodate the high-tech demands
of the lab spaces.
The project was
completed under budget and on time, and received several architectural design awards.
Agnew Associates
provided the following services: HVAC, electrical and plumbing design, construction documents, and construction administration. |
