The existing Carpenter/Wells Residence Hall
was demolished to make room for a new residence hall on the
Texas Tech University campus. The project was divided into 18 separate buildings.
Sixteen of the buildings were residential apartment buildings with either two or three
floors, and the other two were storage and mechanical buildings. The Commons Building
houses study rooms, computer labs, a student lounge, and a convenience store. The HVAC system included a four-pipe fan coil unit system with a
dedicated fan coil unit for each apartment. The fire protection system Agnew Associates
developed includes a residential automatic sprinkler system.
The electrical
systems were comprised of typical apartment-type lighting and power with dedicated load
centers for each apartment. Each apartment bedroom had a dedicated data outlet that was
connected to the campus fiber optic data loop.
Agnew Associates
provided the following services: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design, contract documents, and construction
administration. |
